Ode to Self

So, it’s my birthday! And honestly, Valentine’s Day never meant much to me till it became a full-blown commercial circus. Now my birthday’s got this Overdose vibe—flowers that cost a bomb, red everywhere, packed restaurants, and those ridiculous heart-shaped balloons.

But anyway, here’s the thing: birthdays make you stop and, for a change, celebrate yourself. We always thank God, parents, gurus, everyone else in the name of humility or “social decency”—but it’s seriously liberating to just own it for yourself! Successes, failures, all of it—because no matter how many books you read, how many gurus blessed you, or how many gods watched over, you’re the one who had to walk the path. So why not give yourself some credit?

It made me wonder, How comfortable are we with solitude? Can we truly enjoy a meal in the quiet and celebrate just the ordinary—ourselves? So, I set a table for one—myself—and honestly, it feels grand. And since I don’t exactly own candle stands or fancy candles, I improvised with empty bottles and glasses for a bit of flair. Hey, it worked!

Celebrate you. You’re the one Valentine who’s been there all along, through it all.

Stay fit, find joy, and be in love with yourself!
