Power of consistency and discipline

I began my rangoli practice, inspired by @ramaavenugopalan, who has been doing it daily for years. While I’ve always maintained a consistent prayer practice, I had never added the ritual aspect of rangoli. Seeing someone commit to it every day made me wonder if I could give it a try.

In our culture, we rightfully revere talent, but there’s something to be said about consistency. It’s like a steady flame—perhaps not as exciting as the bright sparks in the sky, but always present and meaningful. Both have a purpose, and one without the other can feel incomplete.

Before December 2021, I had never touched rangoli, never even drawn a single line. But I stuck with it, even when I felt ridiculous, uninspired, or bored. And today, I can see the impact of simply showing up. The lines are clearer, the proportions better—everything has improved. There’s still a long way to go to perfect it, but the results are already becoming visible. 🙂

On your path to healing, do not wait for inspiration or aha moments!! Sticking to any form of healing practice will not only get you good at it but aids you own transformation.
