My DIY Trumeau with a Tamil Nadu Twist

I had previously shared the initial makeover of this old door, but now it’s taken one step further. I wanted to create a true Trumeau mirror, so I got the beading added and, instead of the usual floral motifs, I incorporated a traditional “yali”,a mythical creature from Tamil Nadu temple art. After cutting the piece in half, I got it attached as shown and applied a distressed gold finish.

Ta-da! A Trumeau mirror with a unique Tamil Nadu twist, blending French elegance with local heritage
