Random to Beautiful: Embracing the Possibilities in Design and Life

Many people ask me why I don’t just buy new things but instead work with random pieces. Well, it’s the exploration of potential that fascinates me. Every random or discarded piece has some hidden value (of course, some never do—but that’s rare!), and watching them transform into something meaningful is simply amazing.

For me, the magic is not in buying new objects but in seeing what’s possible with things that might otherwise be overlooked. It’s about embracing the potential of what’s in front of you, even if it seems random or incomplete at first.

As usual, my design rule is simple: keep the structure unchanged and focus on the detailing and usage. This approach allows me to respect the integrity of what I’m working with while adding a touch of my own creative vision. Now, someday… I might even get around to painting it!

This process reminds me that sometimes life feels just like this—random, directionless, or even a bit scattered. Yet, with the right perspective, we can start anywhere, no matter how disconnected or imperfect it may seem. What really matters is our ability to see the possibilities in whatever we encounter, whether it’s a piece of furniture, a broken idea, or a dream we’ve kept on the shelf.

We can all take those random pieces—the odd parts of our lives, our experiences, or even our circumstances—and craft something beautiful out of them.

Life is full of potential, and it’s up to us to make something of it, no matter where we start. All it takes is a little persistence, patience, and a bit of creativity.
